As a writer, Debs has made work for the Royal Opera House, Hay Festival and BBC Radio 3 and Shakespeare’s Globe as well as writing her own solo performance work. She is also an experienced deviser and has worked with theatre companies such as Red Ladder (Hold Ya) and Half Moon, as well as a number of solo artists as part of their R&D process. She recently wrote ‘I Cannot Sleep’, a podcast commission for the Outliers Series, produced by Rusty Quill and commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces.

Debs currently writing the text for Rising Up, a play with songs in commemoration of the Peterloo Massacre, produced by Manchester Folk Expo. Rising Up opens at HOME in Manchester in October 2019 before going on a National tour. Debs will also be directing this piece.

Debs is a Fuse Playwright, mentored by Leeds Playhouse.
